Stakeholders within the Kenya innovation ecosystem have an opportunity to take part in the Country’s inaugural innovation week, the Kenya Innovation Week, 2021.
This is through partnering with the Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) as pre-events organizers. The pre-events have been ongoing and are intended to continue taking place as we build momentum towards the Kenya Innovation Week (KIW) climax scheduled for the 6th to the 10th of December this year.
Event Themes
With the theme of the KIW being “The Innovativeness of Kenyans”, the event revolves around four major thematic areas including, Skills for Innovation, Technology and 4th Industrial Revolution, Research and Commercialization, and Startup Kenya, interested organizers are expected to come up with events that are relevant to these tracks. This can be achieved by understanding the objectives of the KIW and aligning their event goals to contribute to those of the KIW. The organizers have the option of conducting the events either virtually or physically.
The events can take various forms including Bootcamps, Training, Hackathons, Seminars, Fireside Chats, Workshops, Exhibitions, Pitching Competitions, Webinars, and Panels.
Event Guidelines
Event organizers are expected to clearly outline their target audience to achieve optimum attendance and participation. This can be achieved by clearly communicating the value proposition that the event offers. Promotion of the events is encouraged although they are guided by the KIW branding guidelines. at the same time, the organizer will need to collect the participants'; data for reporting purposes.
Creating an event
To create an event, an organizer is required to register at https://kenyainnovationweek.com/events and provide the necessary details. Once approved, the event will be published on the KIW Website. These pre-events are geared towards giving the organizers the opportunity to leave their mark in the innovation ecosystem.
